THE BLIND GIRL…

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind.
She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her.
She told her boyfriend, ‘If I could only see the world, I will marry you.’
One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend.
He asked her,’ Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?’
The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn’t expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.
Her boyfriend left her in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: ‘Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.’
This is how the human brain often works when our status changes.
Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.
Life Is a Gift
Today before you say an unkind word –
Think of someone who can’t speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food – Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Today before you complain about life –
Think of someone who died too young.
Before you complain about your sons and your daughter –
Think of someone who desires children but does not have.
Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn’t clean or sweep –
Think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job –
Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another –
Remember that not one of us is without sin and we all answer to one MAKER.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down –
Put a smile on your face and thank GOD you’re alive and still around.
God Bless You

The eagle

Once a farmer found an abandoned eagle’s nest and in it was an egg still warm.  He took the egg back to his farm and laid it in the nest of one of his hens.  The egg hatched and the baby eagle grew up along with the other chickens.  It pecked about the farmyard, scrabbling for grain.  It spent its life within the yard and rarely looked up.  When it was very old, one day it lifted up its head and saw above it a wonderful sight – an eagle soaring high above in the sky.  Looking at it, the old creature sighed and said to itself, “If only I’d been born an eagle”.

INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ONLY ON YOUR FAULTS, REFLECT ON YOUR GOOD POINTS AS WELL.
REMEMBER THIS: NO ONE IS PERFECT, EVERYONE FAILS AT SOMETHING, SOMETIMES.
IF YOU CAN LEARN TO BE RESILIENT, YOU WILL HAVE ACQUIRED A VITAL ASSET THAT WILL SERVE YOU WELL IN ADULTHOOD.

Darkness cannot…

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Don’t be afraid…

Don’t be afraid to fail. Don’t waste energy trying to cover up failure. Learn from your failures and go on to the next challenge. It’s OK to fail. If you’re not failing, you’re not growing.

On the best sunny day, the most powerful magnifying glass will not light paper if you keep moving the glass. But if you focus and hold it, the paper will light up. That is the power of concentration.

A man was traveling and stopped at an intersection. He asked an elderly man, “Where does this road take me?” The elderly person asked, “Where do you want to go?” The man replied, “I don’t know.” The elderly person said, “Then take any road. What difference does it make?”

How true. When we don’t know where we are going, any road will take us there.

Suppose you have all the football eleven players, enthusiastically ready to play the game, all charged up, and then someone took the goal post away. What would happen to the game? There is nothing left. How do you keep score? How do you know you have arrived?

Enthusiasm without direction is like wildfire and leads to frustration. Goals give a sense of direction. Would you sit in a train or a plane without knowing where it was going? The obvious answer is no. Then why do people go through life without having any goals?

Believe in your…

I learned that we can do anything, but we can’t do everything… at least not at the same time. So think of your priorities not in terms of what activities you do, but when you do them. Timing is everything.

Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.
